How Reduce Blood Cholesterol Levels

Leek leaves (Allium porrum L., A. fistulosum L.) have been investigated, including the ability to lower hypercholesterolemia. In the study, which used mice given the leek leaf extract that amount equivalent to 10 g onion leaves / kg (body weight) / day for 60 days. The result was increasing levels of blood triglycerides and cholesterol rats. But in mice given the sucrose diet, giving extracts with the amount and duration as it can reduce levels of triglycerides and blood cholesterol.

While at certain doses, 0.54 g/200 g BB, green tea was able to lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and weight of white mice. But green tea does not affect HDL cholesterol levels. (more…)

BAD CHOLESTEROL LDL TO LOWER THE BLOOD

Glukan beta is a lot of polysaccharides contained in the oat / rice with skin (bran) and a soluble fiber that can lower “bad” cholesterol (LDL) in the body, but nature would be more efficient if consumed in beverage form.

A recent study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, reported the results of research on the influence of fruit drink fortified with beta glukan of LDL cholesterol levels
in 47 volunteers.

All of these volunteers consuming 500 ml of placebo (a fruit drink enriched with rice starch) every day for three weeks, before then randomized to either treatment or placebo using a fortified beverage glukan beta next five weeks of immersion. (more…)
