How Reduce Blood Cholesterol Levels

Leek leaves (Allium porrum L., A. fistulosum L.) have been investigated, including the ability to lower hypercholesterolemia. In the study, which used mice given the leek leaf extract that amount equivalent to 10 g onion leaves / kg (body weight) / day for 60 days. The result was increasing levels of blood triglycerides and cholesterol rats. But in mice given the sucrose diet, giving extracts with the amount and duration as it can reduce levels of triglycerides and blood cholesterol.

Fruit star fruit Averrhoa wuluh bilimbi L. commonly used as part of the seasoning or vegetables, also proven to reduce blood cholesterol levels. From the research proved, wuluh starfruit juice with 1 ml volume, 1.5 ml, 2 ml, and 2.5 ml orally to white rats can lower cholesterol levels in blood serum.

While at certain doses, 0.54 g/200 g BB, green tea was able to lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and weight of white mice. But green tea does not affect HDL cholesterol levels. (more…)
